Dietary control & fasting
Common precautions for 2-3 days before checkup
Avoid greasy food, drinking and overwork.
One day before checkup : Please have a light dinner before 8 p.m. and then fast (you may drink water until 12 p.m.)
On the day of checkup : Please do not have water, juice, gum, or cigarettes during fasting.
One day before checkup : Please fast from midnight after dinner.
Examination day : Please do not have water, juice, gum, or cigarettes during fasting.
If you have had any surgery and disease, you may not have some tests. So please inform us in advance.
Take the sample on the morning of the appointment day or one day before, Keep the specimen in a cool place (If you are scheduled to receive colonoscopy, collect the specimen before taking the preparatory laxatives).
If you are scheduled to receive a urine test or a lower abdominal (pelvic) ultrasound, please hold your urine.
Glasses and valuables
Please do not wear contact lenses as they can be damaged during the intraocular pressure test.
For measuring your corrected vision, please bring your glasses if you have them.
Please do not bring any valuables and/ or children to your health checkup.
For Female Patients
Probability of pregnancy
Exposure to radiation may have harmful effects on the fetus.
In order to prevent such risk, all female patients are recommended to check their menstrual cycle to find out if they are pregnant (Partial tests and blood test only available).
Urine test and Pap test are unavailable (visit 4-5 days after menstruation)
Mammography and breast ultrasonography are unavailable.
You can get the examinations after at least 6 months after breastfeeding is stopped.
No Sexual relationship, vaginal tablets, creams, feminine cleanser
Avoid 24 hours prior to the Pap test.
Instructions for medication
Please let us know if you take any medications, and stop or continue taking them according to the instructions.
A week before the test
If you are taking antiplatelet drugs (aspirin, plavix, pretal, etc.) and anticoagulants (warfarin, coumadin, heparin, etc.) for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, please consult your doctor and stop taking them a week ago.
When you take Hypertensive medication, Diabetes medication or Heart medication, stop Aspirins as the risk of bleeding increases after a biopsy or removal of polyps during endoscopy.
On the day of the test
Stop Diabetes medication (Hypoglycemic agents) and insulin injections.
Take Antihypertensive, Arrhythmia, Heart, Thyroid and Anticonvulsant medications with a small amount of water early in the morning.
Precautions for endoscopy
If you have had any surgery and disease, please inform us in advance (endoscopy may be restricted depending on the medical history).
If you have a heart disease, cirrhosis, chronic lung disease, or other chronic disease, be sure to notify the staff in advance.
If you have an eye surgery (LASIK, LASEK, etc.) please receive endoscopy after at least three months from the operation.
Endoscopy not allowed
Those who have a manicure that cannot be washed with acetone (oxygen saturation is not measurable)
Those who have possibility of tooth damage
Those who have unsuitable blood pressure and ECG results on the day of examination after discussing with a doctor
Those who without resident registration numbers (foreigners) according to the Narcotic Control Act
Those who apply for endoscopy on the day of examination
Do not drive after the sedative endoscopy.
